“This is an incredible home security camera set up! I have had different security camera set ups for over 20 years and this is by far the best system I have owned to date! The cameras are the heart of the system incorporating separate fixed and PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras in each housing that work in tandem to identify movement and track it. The separate camera units can be linked so movement on 1 signals the next to move to track the movement, this allows movement to be followed around the property. You get 4 of these bullet PTZ camera units accounting for 8 different camera feeds. I walk out my front door and instantly I have a stalker, they are super cool! The video produced is super clear and items can be easily identified, the reason we have cameras in the first place!System set up is easy. Plug the NVR into the router, load the app, create a log in and continue with the set up process. The cameras connect themselves when plugged in. Running the wires is the hardest part of the whole process and could or should be left to a professional if access is limited. I only have 2 cameras connected at the moment as it's too hot to be in the attic until it gets cooler. 4 - 59' ethernet cables are provided for power and data for the cameras, no separate power supply for the individual cameras, power comes directly from the NVR. The cables have weather tight fittings to keep the moisture out and protect the connections. From my research it appears Cat6 cable can be used for longer runs and the weather seal can be installed over the 45 connectors protecting the connection. The app is easy to navigate and to make changes. Individual users can have different settings for notification tone, time between alerts and various other items settings. Items like camera angle can be adjusted through the app for the PTZ cameras, detection zones can be set to your needs and sensitivity can be adjusted. I have mine set up to give me a notification sound and a pop up on my lock screen that shows what camera and if it was a car, pet, person or someone the system recognizes by name. Yes the system has face recognition and it allows you to assign a title to the person.I was unsure when I ordered the system exactly what I was looking at I had never heard of Eufy before. The cameras are phenomenal! The whole system works together flawlessly to follow movement on my property and allow easy recall of the events. It really gives me peace of mind when I'm at home or away helping me keep my family safe! No area of my house will have a blind spot now! I had issues with blind corners even with 8 individual cameras as they were all fixed. Plus additional cameras can be added with the Bullet PTZ cameras currently listed at $279.99, or single PTZ or bullet cameras also being available at a lower cost. This camera set up will impress! I fully recommend the system and at the current list price of $1299.99 it is a bargain for the equipment you receive! I was skeptical of the initial price wondering if it was truly worth it, seeing truly is believing!”
"I own 2 of the wireless Eufy cameras (Ring Doorbell and Outdoor Cam Pro) and I love them…so I was enticed by this Eufy PoE (Power Over Ethernet) security camera system. I appreciate my existing 2-camera system for ease of setup; the app is user friendly and (best of all) no subscription fees.My new NVR (Network Video Recorder) system arrived quickly and well packaged. Unboxing revealed 3 clearly labeled cartons displaying pictorial contents. This kit included: 4 cameras (2 S4 and 2 E40 cameras), 1 NVR recorder, 1 power adapter, 1 USB mouse, installation hardware, mounting brackets, handy positioning stickers and all the cables required for installation (HDMI, and Ethernet) with waterproof covers. These cameras have 4K technology for wide angle viewing and the S4s pan and zoom. The cameras are relatively compact and look very futuristic and the mounting brackets will allow you to mount these almost anywhere on vertical or horizontal surfaces. The NVR (the brains of the system) has a 2 TB hard drive with 8 available ports for 8-channel surveillance…4 will be more than enough for my purposes. It has what they call “Smart Video Search” …which means that if you are looking for a specific incident, that instead of scrolling through everything, you can search by keywords. The system is totally plug and play with one PoE cable for power and video, making connections seamless and easy. Now for the negatives: The plug and play option makes setup and connections easy and straightforward…however, the complex nature of running cables is a major obstacle for me. Drilling holes in the side of my house and running cables through attics, walls and ceilings was not something that I took into consideration. As a result, I will probably have to hire someone (a knowledgeable professional) to complete my installation. Also, the Ethernet (camera to NVR) cables included are only 18m (or approximately 70’) long…which limits 4-corner positioning of cameras at most homes. Perhaps this system is better suited for businesses where shorter and visible cable runs are not an issue? My existing wireless cameras will not work with this system. The system’s quality is excellent. I have a wireless version of this product in my home, and I have encountered no problems or issues with the cameras or the app. Overall, a great product and I will not deduct any stars for my inability to properly install (to my satisfaction) this system in my home. I will return for an amended review after professional installation."
"I’ve been using this camera with the eufy PoE NVR Security System and it works really well. The setup was simple with a single Ethernet cable for both power and data. The camera only works with the eufy NVR, but once connected, the performance is excellent. The video quality is very clear, with sharp details during the day, and I was pleasantly surprised that it stays in color even in low-light conditions. Since it’s hardwired, there’s no need to worry about WiFi dropouts or jammers, which gives extra peace of mind for security. If you already have the eufy PoE NVR Security System, this camera is a great addition."
