Frequently Asked Questions
What is the issue with the power bank?
We identified a potential manufacturing issue involving lithium-ion battery cells supplied by a single vendor. These cells—commonly used in the consumer electronics industry—were included in five PowerCore models sold in multiple markets.
This issue was detected through enhanced quality assurance protocols that Anker implemented following a previous recall. While the likelihood of malfunction is considered minimal, we are initiating a voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.
Where can I find the model number and the serial number on my product?
The serial number is usually printed on the side or back of the product. Please refer to the image below for guidance.

Note: Pay close attention to the letters and numbers in the serial number, such as "1," "L," "I," "2," and "Z." Characters like "0" (zero) and "O" (the letter O) are easily confused. Serial numbers of affected products do not contain the letters "O" or "I."
Which products are affected?
This voluntary recall applies to the following Anker models:
- Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) — Model A1257
- Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1647
- Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W) — Model A1652
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) — Model A1681
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1689
What should I do if my power bank is affected?
- Immediately stop using the unit.
- Do not dispose of it until your recall eligibility has been confirmed.
- Click the "Submit Recall" button for instructions on how to request a full refund or gift card.
Can I continue using the power bank if it seems fine?
No. Even if the device appears to function normally, any unit confirmed to be part of this recall should be stopped from use immediately due to the risk of overheating, melting, smoke, or fire.
How should I dispose of the recalled power bank?
After receiving confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies for a full refund or gift card, please dispose of the affected unit at a certified facility that accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries.
Do not discard this recalled lithium-ion battery in the trash, general recycling streams (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in used battery drop-off boxes commonly found at retail or home improvement stores. These collection points are not equipped to handle recalled lithium-ion products such as power banks.
Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be handled differently from regular batteries because they pose a higher risk of fire. Your local Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection center may accept this power bank for safe disposal. Before visiting, contact the facility to confirm whether it accepts lithium-ion battery-powered devices from recall programs.

If my A1647 / A1652 was not affected in last year's recall, do I still need to check it again this year?
Yes, we recommend checking it again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Have you notified the CPSC about this issue?
Yes, we are proactively cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on this matter.
