I bought the Eufy R10 retrofit smart lock about 1.5 years ago but only installed it today, I had a difficult time to install the lock because my previous lock created a bit of the indent not leaving enough space for the interior lock to securly connect to the plate. After shimming the plate I was able to finish physical installation. After 2-3 tries I was able to fish setting up the lock including adding two access codes. The lock was connected to my wifi at this point. After realizing the new firmware was available I proceeded with the update. Unfortunately the installation failed. I was unable to reconned to wifi. After remowing/reinstalling batteries I did manage to connect to wifi. I then tried again to update firmware resulting again in failure. Unfortunately I was unable to connect the lock to internet after the second update attempt. My wifi is strong and I have no issues connecting with many other devices. I can connect to the lock via blutooth but no wifi. I can still close/open lock with the two codes added during the initial setup. I spent about 3 hours for installation and setup. Its very frustrating wifi is not working.

You need more room on the sides that advertised
Very happy with this lock, great price and works like a charm, but while the pictures ahow you need 1 3/8†from center to the sides, in fact you need additional- 1/2†due to the wings of the lock. This caused me to have to remove the window sill inside my door but after that everything installed fine and it is working well.
